The electronic equipment racks covered by this specification are of two basic configurations, (1) modular solid-sided sheetmetal steel cabinets with access doors (rear only and optional front) and (2) modular open-sided racks having no sides or doors. Both configurations have vertical uprights drilled and tapped for mounting FAA standard 19-inch (482.6) rack panels. The racks specified herein are intended for mounting units of electrical equipment assembled on rack panels and supported by chassis slides, shelves, or brackets. The racks may be used singularly or bolted together, side-by-side in groups.
