1. SCOPE
This specification establishes the performance and product requirements for packaged energy conserving automotive service fill engine oils exceeding the minimal requirements of American Petroleum Institute (API) service category "SF" to be marketed under the Motorcraft trademark. These oils are intended to give additional protection against sludge, varnish, wear, oxidation and corrosion, while providing fuel economy benefits.
This specification is not intended to limit the material to any specific formulation, but rather defines the total performance required of these engine oils.
