1. SCOPE

This standard describes requirements for creating a Worldwide Utility fastener drawing. Utility fasteners are created when existing Standard and Utility fasteners do not fulfill design, assembly, or purchasing requirements. Utility fastener drawings have special requirements beyond those for other part drawings. Some of the special requirements are necessary because of the special suffix/finish system used by Standard and Utility fasteners. Others are intended to reduce complexity through reuse of Utility fasteners across vehicle lines and vehicle systems. For further information about Standard and Utility fastener procedures, refer to FAP03-117.
