This standard specifies involute splines with cutter pressure angle of 20 degrees, which are made mainly by cutting and used for coupling driving shafts and mating holes. Matters not specified in the standard shall conform to KS R 2001.

Remarks

1. This standard covers involute spline based on the hole basis fit system, whose shaft is made with the gear cutting tools for 20 degrees stub tooth according to KS R 2201.

2. Involute spline with cutter pressure angle of 20 degrees is mainly used for cutting shafts(sometimes, however, a shaft is made by rolling and cold forging.)

   Involute spline with cutter pressure angle of 37.5 degrees which is made by rolling is under investigation for standardization separately.
