1 SCOPE.
This specification covers the performance and qualification requiremments for rigid, exterior, etch resistant basecoat/clearcoat systems. Materials approved under this specification are one-component, high solids solventborne paints. They require different processing (such as nitrogen blankets and/or higher bake temperatures) as compared to standard acrylic-melamine enamel clearcoat systems and are more resistant to acid etching and water spotting.
