This specification covers the requirements of high solids (50 to 55% volume solids as sprayed), solventborne rigid clearcoat. This clear is intended for use wet-on-wet over universal basecoats covered in specification 9984505. Materials approved to this specification are not interchangeable and are approved for use only with the combinations of basecoats and other components of the total paint system which were used in qualification testing.
