1 SCOPE.

This specification details the physical properties and performance requirements of a coextruded, expandable thermoplastic sealer that can be pre-applied to a stamped patch (cover plate) to seal an opening. The compound must expand and seal the gap between the stamping and the secondary surface. The sealer must have good adhesion to SMC and galvanized steel coated with cathodic ELPO or dip prime. Expansion must take place when exposed to low temperature oven heats and prevent water, dust and carbon monoxide leakage.
