1 SCOPE.

This specification covers the physical properties and performance requirements of an ionomer film available with (Type I) and without (Type rt) a pressure sensitive adhesive backing that is used as a gasketing material between two dissimilar metals. The film is tough and abrasion resistant and prevents the formation of a galvanic corrosion all between the two metals (usually steel and alurminum).
