This specification covers the requirements for latex foam rubber weatherstrips used to seal automotive body openings, i.e., doors and roof rails. The latex foam weatherstrip is used most successfully as a door mounted seal. The latex continuous molding process is able to produce a seal with changing cross section size. This is an advantage when the door can not be sealed with a constant section. Above the belt line latex foam seals are used successfully as a body side seal for hardtops and convertibles. Latex can be molded into the complex shapes needed for these seals.
