1 Scope

This specification describes two types of urethane foams with cellular features that make it useful as an air and dust seal and a water seal when compressed at least 50 %. These materials can be used in place of expanded cellular rubber (GM6086M) whenever softness (to minimize mating part distortion) or large variations in gap is required. These materials are a clean alternative to saturated urethane foams. The materials can be used within a temperature range of -40 to 120 -C. Type I and Type IA are moisture resistant 90 % restricted cell ether base urethane foams. Type II material will resist water to a greater range of compression and time. Individual application requirements may be tested to determine the best choice.
