This standard describes the procedure for installing adhesive foam tape to an automotive component, and a procedure for running a 90º peel test between the tape and the component.
This procedure is intended to serve as a general guideline for the automotive component supplier. Tape attached components can include body side moldings, roof ditch moldings, body claddings, appliqués, door sill plates, fascia trim strip, wheel flares, nameplates, emblems, and other trim applications.
Note: Nothing in the specification supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless specific exemption has been obtained.
