This procedure is used to determine the resistance to topcoat cracking due to impact on finished leather at -30°C. The combination of the impact head size and the weight used for this test was developed to duplicate the cracking observed at low temperature in a pattern of concentric circles exhibited on some finished (topcoated) leather.
Note 1: Nothing in this test method supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained.
