Purpose. This document is a specification for testing High-Speed, Mid-Speed, and Low-Speed (In-Vehicle) General Motors Local Area Network (GMLAN) Controller Area Network (CAN) bus devices.

Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) testing is not described in this document, except crank pulse and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD). ESD testing for GMW14241 requirements should be coordinated with testing of GMW3097 item 3.6.2 ESD, Remote Inputs/Outputs and item 3.6.3 ESD, Handling of Devices.

Applicability. This specification applies to only GM vehicles using GMLAN CAN Bus devices.

Remarks.

The measurement results shall be documented in the separately available GMW14241 Test Result Template (CG2615), all plots included.

Parameters are given as nominal values unless otherwise noted.

All tests and test methods shall be executed if not otherwise stated.
