Purpose.

To precondition a non-metallic diesel or gasoline primary or secondary fuel tanks for other specifications and to evaluate the fuel permeability of these tanks.

Foreword.

This procedure can be used to show compliance with European regulations:

• EEC 70/221 as amended by EEC 2000/8.

Note: Fuel tanks which have completed this specification are required for use in specifications GMW14847 and GMW14848.

Applicability.

This procedure applies to all passenger cars, multipurpose passenger vehicle (MPV), and trucks which have a primary or secondary non-metallic diesel or gasoline fuel tank.
