Purpose. To precondition a non-metallic diesel or gasoline primary or secondary fuel tank for other specifications and to evaluate the fuel permeability of these tanks.

Foreword. This procedure can be used to show compliance with European regulations:

Note: Fuel tanks which have completed this specification are required for use in specifications GMW14847 and GMW14848.

Applicability. This procedure applies to all passenger cars, multipurpose passenger vehicles (MPV), and trucks which have a primary or secondary non-metallic diesel or gasoline fuel tank.
