Purpose.

The park brake apply subsystem transforms hand or foot lever force and travel into force and travel to the rear foundation brake subsystem. The park brake lever mechanically maintains the force and travel input to the foundation brake system until released by the driver. The park brake mechanism activates a switch that provides an electrical signal that is used to warn the operator the system is activated.
