Material Description. This standard covers properties of various types of glass fiber reinforced/mineral filled, heat stabilized polyphthalamide (PPA), injection moldable, hot oil moldable.
Symbols. The material abbreviations according to SAE J1344 are shown in Table 1.
Applicability. Typical applications include: underhood applications, positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valves, transmission solenoids, end caps, cooling system inlet/outlet.
Remarks. The classification into groups is according to the different ranges of glass fiber and mineral content. Additional glass/mineral ranges will be added as they become necessary.
