Material Description. This standard covers properties of various types of glass fiber reinforced/mineral filled, heat stabilized polyphthalamide (PPA), injection moldable, hot oil moldable.
Symbols. The material abbreviations according to SAE J1344 are shown in Table 1.
Typical Applications. Typical applications include the following: underhood applications, PCV valves, transmission solenoids, end caps, cooling system inlet/outlet.
Remarks. The classification into groups is according to the different ranges of glass fiber and mineral content. Additional glass/mineral ranges will be added as they become necessary.
