Purpose. The objective of this test procedure is to validate single FlexRay Electronic Control Units (ECU) via black box testing at the vendor site and in some cases also via grey box testing. These tests setups have to be considered as a validation step for gaining an acceptable quality level for GM. In a separate integration step, those ECUs will be tested in a communication cluster at GM (see FlexRay ECU - System Level Test Procedure).

The current version of this document does not comprehend functional safety requirements.

Applicability. This specification applies to only GM vehicles using GM FlexRay Communication Devices.
