Purpose.
This standard establishes the component level requirements for the Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS) Thermal Runaway Propagation (TRP) cell-to-cell Thermal Runaway Barrier (TRB). The TRB may be a stand-alone assembly between cells or part of a module level venting assembly such as a cell group binder clip or vent cover. This standard document shall be used in conjunction with application specific documents in Appendix C1 of the Statement of Requirements (SOR) to define TRB requirements for an individual application. These documents complement other requirements included in the SOR.
