INTRODUCTION

This Part of the Defence Standard has been issued to provide requirements and guidance for the certification of UK military aircraft engines.

This standard has been developed in full consideration of European civil certification requirements to ensure that the design of new engines under this standard will comply with a Certification Basis drawn from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) CS-E together with the UK military requirements. Where there are no identified military specific certification requirements, the extant CS-E requirement is specified. Where military requirements are specified, these are denoted as UK-E.

This is a generic document which contains requirements for the whole range of engine applications. The use of the document is described in Part 0 Section 3.
