This Defence Standard covers the material and installation requirements for decorative and quick release linings in Surface Ships and Submarines that are to be used in the following spaces:

Medical and Dental Organizations, see Def Stan 02-106. Parts 1 to 4;

Accommodation, see Def Stan 02-107;

WC's, Urinals, Bathrooms and Washing Facilities, see Def Stan 02-120;

Galleys and Associated Spaces, see Def Stan 02-121.

This Defence Standard also covers material and installation requirements for non-load bearing composite bulkhead systems which are to be used as partitions to form boundaries for cabins, public rooms, messes, offices, passageways etc.

Composite bulkhead systems shall not be used as boundaries which must retain a degree of watertight or gastight integrity, such as bathrooms, heads, galleys and associated spaces.
