This Defence Standard provides requirements for the physical characteristics, test methods and acceptance standards of cast nickel aluminium bronze naval alloy sand castings with the repair welding of the casting restricted to the non-wetted surface, that is, where no heat affected zone (HAZ) caused by welding is exposed to seawater.
Castings are classified as either I, II, or III. These classifications are defined in Def Stan 02-863.
