This NES specifies the procedure to be used for bulk embarkation of Liquid Oxygen (LOX) into ships storage tanks.

This NES also specifies:

health and safety hazards during embarkation.

contamination levels and sampling.

This NES is applicable to Surface Ships fitted with bulk LOX storage.

This NES is not applicable to the embarkation of Gaseous Oxygen (GOX) or LOX in aircraft converters.

This NES does not cover the storage of LOX, this information is contained in BR 1754, BRF 6555(001) and BRF 6555(003).
