This Defence Standard defines the requirements for the manufacture, testing and supply of White Metal Ingots for use in the manufacture of bearings.

Three grades of white metal are covered:

1) Type I White metal ingots for general engineering bearings.

2) Type II Special white metal for underwater bearings.

3) Type III Special white metal for precision bearing liners.
