This Standard specifies the requirements for the electro-deposition of chromium on ferrous metals, aluminium and aluminium alloys, titanium and titanium alloys and other metals for one or more of the following purposes:
The production of wear resistant surfaces.
Corrosion resistance coupled with wear resistance.
The build up of worn or over machined surfaces.
Attention is drawn to Def Stan 03-31 which gives advice on the design aspects of chromium plating for engineering purposes.
