INTRODUCTION

This Quality Techical Memorandum provides a guide to the arrangements specified in Quality Procedural Requirement 4 for assuring the quality of sub-contracted defence work. It describes the policy background and the more important aspects of the relationship between the MOD, its contractors and their sub-contractors. The definition of "sub-contractor' and "sub-contracting" given in paragraph 2 of QPR 4 applies equally to these terms as used in this QTM.
