This supplement provides a definitive specification for the electrical, physical, performance and nomenclature requirements for a 14V, 80Ah (Nominal), Lithium Thionyl Chloride battery, NSN 6135-99-225-7255. To prevent the battery from being operated outside its design parameters it is imperative that external safety control features are used (see clause 4). The battery is intended to power a specific range of equipment (hereafter referred to as the “host equipment”). Any other applications will require endorsement by the Authority, and may involve additional testing. It is essential that the battery is operated only within its design and performance parameters, also that it is NEVER EXPOSED TO TEMPERATURES EXCEEDING 70ºC OR PHYSICALLY DAMAGED IN ANY WAY.
