This Standard specifies the colour coding of terminations, conductor cores, busbars and main connections in direct and alternating current systems for land and shipboard applications.
The Standard also specifies the identification marking and colour coding (where colours are used) for use in aircraft.
The Standard does not apply to aircraft ground supply cables between the aircraft and its supply trolley or to low voltage wiring on road transport vehicles (see Def Stan 61-12 (Part 10), BS AU7a and MVEE 2051 for these applications.)
