This Defence Standard specifies requirements for an aqueous emulsion of vinyl polymers for use as an adhesive to secure paper or fabric labels to packages and to provide such labels with a moisture-resistant coating. It is intended for fixing labels by brush application to the outside of fibreboard or wooden containers, painted metal or unpainted aluminium (at least 99.0% Al) but not on unpainted aluminium alloys.
