This Defence Standard presents an overview of some of the different types of reliability tests that can be applied to equipment and provides some high-level guidance on how they can be selected and used. The intent of this standard is to be identified in a contract to define the requirements for reliability testing. This standard incorporates the following:

a) Accelerated Test

b) Reliability Growth Test (RGT)

c) Reliability Qualification Test (RQT)

d) Reliability Demonstration Test (RDT)

e) In Service Reliability Demonstration (ISRD)

Note: This standard does not detail the statistical and managerial processes required for successful completion of the test, instead reference is made to appropriate standards.
