This Defence Standard specifies the requirements for a Low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) multi-pack, cold-curing epoxy finishing paint with anti-slip properties. The three types differ in the composition and concentration of the aggregate used and each material is designed for application to specific areas of service aircraft as specified by the Aircraft Design Authority.
The paints may also be used as an emergency repair of external coatings complying with Def Stan 80-210 where the use polyurethane paint is banned on health and safety grounds (e.g. on board HM ships).
