This standard specifies requirements for the packaging of Handsets, Headsets, Microphones, Ancillary Parts and Accessories to Military Levels P, N and J.

NOTE This standard does not cover the packaging for microphones and similar equipment used in oxygen masks.

This standard is based on a Primary Package Quantity (PPQ) of one. When the contract or order specifies a PPQ greater than one, the Services Packaging Instruction Sheet (SPIS) shall follow the principles of this Standard.

(a) Handsets, Remote Control;

(b) Handsets, Telephone;

(c) Headsets, Electrical;

(d) Headsets, Microphone;

(e) Microphones, Hand, Carbon or Magnetic;

(f) Microphones / Headsets / Receiver Assemblies;

(g) Microphone, Throat;

(h) Elements and Inserts, Electrical Microphone and Receiver;

(i) Ancillaries and Accessories.

NOTE This standard does not cover the packaging of items identified as being electrostatic discharge sensitive devices.
