This standard defines the Specification and Manufacture of Weldable Precipitation Hardening Martensitic Stainless Steels and forgings in the form of cold-worked sheet and strip in addition to hot-worked bars, billets and plates. 

In the case of hot-worked bars, billets and plates and forgings, this standard applies to 6mm-150mm diameter bars, billets up to 150mm, plates greater than 3.25mm and less than 75mm thick and all forgings, regardless of section thickness. 

This standard also specifies other supply conditions and the heat treatment parameters and property levels appropriate to those conditions. 

Where materials are subjected to welding processes, this standard specifies the requirements for pre and post weld heat treatment.
