Purpose of the Switching Programme
The purpose of the Switching Programme is to facilitate the commissioning of equipment on the Daines circuit at Cellarhead 400kV Substation, comprising of:
(a) Replacement switchgear (part of the switchgear replacement scheme, 2483).
(b) Replacement protection (part of the protection replacement scheme, 2471).
(c) Backup protection (part of the backup protection scheme, 2480).
The equipment to be commissioned consists of:
(a) Gas circuit breaker X305, type FEX2 (SF6).
(b) Second main feeder protection, type THR pla in distance.
(c) Backup earthfault relay, type IDMTL.
The key stages of the switching programme are:
(a) Energisation of new circuit breaker and line from Bus Coupler 1 at Cellarhead.
(b) Placing the Cellarhead-Daines circuit on load, and protection on-load tests at Cellarhead.
(c) DAR Tests.
