PURPOSE OF COMMISSIONING

The purpose of commissioning is to prove that the equipment which has been installed accords with the design specification, and is acceptable for commercial service.

This requirement may be subdivided into:

(a) Verifying that the equipment has not been damaged in transit, that it has been correctly installed, and that it performs as specified.

(b) Obtaining test data as the basis for comparison with future maintenance and fault investigation results.
