This schedule details the procedures and tests required to commission a newly fitted or upgraded ASBMON unit assuming that the following pre-requisites have been completed:

(a) The ASBMON has been installed in the GI (or other) cubicle and cabled to in accordance with the relevant installation details. (See PM Installation Instruction document for ASBMON unit).

(b) The OMS has been installed and commissioned. Since the ASBMON unit requires both power and frequency data from the OMS it is essential that the OMS is provided with a voltage input(s) for the frequency measurement. If not fitted, suitable VT source(s) will need to be identified and cabling to the OMS arranged.

(c) The ASB PC system used to interrogate the ASBMON units is operational and Ancillary Services have been informed of the commissioning dates.

(d) The PSTN (or CTN) line for the ASBMON to Coventry PC connection is installed.

(e) Where required, the SM communications link to the unit has been commissioned.

The extent of the commissioning of the ASBMON covers the following interfaces:

(i) Local terminal interface at the ASBMON.

(ii) OMS to ASBMON link.

(iii) Local alarm operation from the ASBMON.

(iv) ASBMON link to ASB PC at Coventry.
