This Specification defines or refers the reader to the policy requirements for Substation Information, Control, Protection and Metering. These requirements cover integration of protection and control into common hardware platforms, type registration and environmental testing. This NGTS serves to integrate the functional requirements of the existing individual level 2 specifications NGTS 2.6, NGTS 2.7, and NGTS 2.9 for protection, control, metering and automatic switching and explains the new structure of the documentation which will replace these level 2 specifications. The requirements apply to all light current equipment used on the National Grid transmission system at 400, 275 and 132 kV (including transformer low voltage connections, transformer tertiary connections and associated plant and apparatus) in these functional areas.
