This Specification describes the functional and performance requirements for back-up protection on the NGC=s 400 kV, 275 kV, 132 kV and lower voltage systems with the following exceptions:
(i) It does not apply to the measure of back-up protection afforded by overreaching zones of non-unit type feeder main protection which is specified in NGTS 3.6.4 Non-unit Feeder Main Protection.
(ii) It does not apply to circuit-breaker fail protection which is specified in NGTS 3.6.8 Circuit-breaker Fail Protection.
The protection system and associated input and output requirements for feeder back-up protection are included in this Specification. The corresponding system requirements for back-up protection of other plant are specified in the appropriate NGTS Level Three Specifications.
The requirements for the trip relay resetting scheme are specified in NGTS 3.6.15 Trip Relays and Trip Relay Resetting.
