Introduction
The subject of this specification is a Static Voltage Converter and Base. The Static Voltage Converter will be treated in two parts (1) a module, being the functioning section, as shown on drawing No. ATC/LP/--- and hereinafter called the module, (2) a complete assembly, of the module in a case, as shown on drawing No. ATC/LP/--- and hereinafter called the Unit. The Base, as shown in drawings ATC/LP/614 (cast), ATC/LP/742 (fabricated), is covered separately. Unless stated otherwise, reference to the Unit applies equally to the module.
The Unit will provide two isolated voltage supplies, and both supplies will be isolated from the input, which are intended to energise the A.W.S. on Traction vehicles. The Unit will provide a nominal 12.5 vdc output and a nominal 40 vdc current limited output. Total output capacity will be approximately 40 VA.
For the purpose of this specification the ‘Engineer' shall be the Director of Signal and Telecomm's Engineering B.R.H.Q. All technical enquiries should be sent to the Electrical Equipment Engineer, Director of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, B.R.H.Q. Derby, hereinafter referred to as the Engineer (Technical). Design proposals to be submitted, followed by a pre-production prototype which must be approved, by both the Engineer and Engineer (Technical), before production commences. Changes or amendments to this specification and associated drawings must be submitted to and approved by, in writing, both ‘Engineers'.
This specification. and associated drawings and specifications.are subject to amendments to accommodate design changes which may be made during the working life of the equipment. It is the responsibility of the persons using this specification and associated documents to ensure that they are in possession of the most recent issues.
