This Standard shall apply to the whole of the Network Rail-controlled infrastructure.

Purpose

This Standard mandates that lineside vegetation will undergo inspection, maintenance and management regimes derived from risk assessments based upon railway and vegetation characteristics.

This will reduce the risk posed by vegetation to the safety and performance of the operational railway, together with the risk posed to third parties.
