This document provides guidance to manufacturers and others (who already have a vehicle system safety case (VSSC) accepted by Network Rail for a vehicle on a particular route), as to the principles that are to be adopted in extending the vehicle system safety case to cover other routes.

It also gives guidance on the accuracy of information provided by Network Rail, which has been extracted from the Network Rail Asset Register (RAR).
