This procedure applies to the management of hot weather precautions relating to track within the maintenance organisation.

This procedure details the posts responsible within the maintenance organisation for ensuring that actions are taken where non-compliances are identified.

This procedure is applicable to all Network Rail staff who are responsible for inspection and maintenance of track.

It does not include arrangements for the management of:

• renewals sites

• works by non track functions, or

• Civil Engineering.

These groups will have their own management documents

This Standard Maintenance Procedure details the roles and responsibilities within the Maintenance organisation in the management of weather precautions relating to hot weather situations.
