This policy applies to all engaged in activities connected to any aspect of the Lift life cycle and is supported by lift asset management modules.

NOTE: Network Rail manages a nationwide portfolio of circa 1300 Lifts which has doubled over the last 10 years and anticipated to increase at the same rate pro-rata.

Purpose 

The purpose of this document is to specify the high-level requirements to be followed when undertaking any activity as part of the life cycle management for Lift assets.

NOTE: It should be read in conjunction with other asset policies. 

This policy seeks to optimise the performance, risk and cost of ownership across all of its life cycle stages from concept to disposal to deliver maximum whole life benefit/value.
