This document applies when:

• developing or changing asset registers, data designs and specifications, reference data and associated data management tools;

• defining responsibility and accountability for data within the asset registers;

• adding, removing, or changing infrastructure assets as a result of work undertaken by Investment Projects or Asset Management and supplying data for the purposes of updating or maintaining data within asset registers;

• making changes to maintenance schedules for assets contained in Ellipse;

• undertaking data quality improvement activities;

• an output of NR/L2/EBM/029 Product Introduction & Change results in the need to create new or amended equipment types within asset registers;

• planning and undertaking the National Core Audit Programme (NCAP).

Purpose

This standard allocates key responsibilities associated with the management of Network Rail's asset registers and the different types of data contained therein.
