This competence standard applies in all circumstances where any person is required to undertake and record Tests/Checks of Signalling equipment on Network Rail managed infrastructure.

The Test Assistant covers the role of undertaking tests under direction on signalling components and equipment in accordance with the test specifications and plans.

Mod 5 is split into 3 competencies:

• Module 5A – (General)

• Module 5C - (Control Table Ticker)

• Module 5E – (Signalling Electronic systems Assistant)

Purpose

The purpose of this competence standard is to define the competence requirements for persons required to undertake and record Tests/Checks of Signalling equipment.
