This standard applies in full to all new and existing a.c. and d.c. Conductor Rail electrified lines.
The standard does not include requirements for:
1. Signs at public road crossings on a.c. & d.c. Conductor Rail electrified lines. These are given in the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 1994 and are the responsibility of the Highway Authority once advice has been given by Network Rail;
2. Signs on rail vehicles, road vehicles or mobile plant.
Purpose
The purpose of this document is to provide a specification for the design and display of signs on Network Rail infrastructure to warn and provide safety information to persons on or near a.c. and/or d.c. electrified lines.
