This module applies to the inspection and maintenance of manual and power operated lifting equipment which is defined in LOLER as ‘an operation concerned with the lifting or lowering of a load’ which are:
- CCTV winches
- Lighting Winches
- Pulley systems
- Lifting Cranes
- Hoists
- Jacks including Bridge Jacks (Hydraulic and Direct Screw)
- Spring droppers- Hydraulic Droppers
- Switchgear Lifting Equipment
- Fixed Beams
Purpose
This module provides a process for inspection and maintenance of lifting equipment to comply with Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER), Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and control the risks associated with this legislation.
