Applicability

This document applies to all activities associated with the testing andcommissioning of OCS with the exception of the requirements relating to product type testing.

The testing requirements defined in this module apply to OCS infrastructure only.

The requirements of this document should be applied appropriately to thescale of the works that have taken place on the OCS so that the risks are managed effectively. The requirements of this module do not apply to Category 3projects (see definition of Category 1, 2 and 3 projects in NR/L2/ELP/27314 -Main Standard)

unless specifically requested by the Electrification and Plant (E&P)Route Asset Manager or appointed delegate.

Exclusions

Multi-disciplinary testing requirements to demonstrate Electrical SystemCompatibility are excluded from this document and are to be developed separately as part of the controls necessary to demonstrate whole system compliance.This document does not apply to OCS routine maintenance or related testingactivities,

design assurance of any site changes, work carried out under emergencyconditions, or project works that can be carried out solely within theparameters of the maintenance risk manual.

NOTE: Recovery from incidents involving damage to the OLE is covered in NR/L2/ELP/27032.

Occupational health and safety requirements for testing and commissioning are not included in this module.

Purpose

This module is one of four modules that make up the end-to-end processfor the Construction Assurance of the Overhead Contact System (OCS).

This module describes the requirements to manage the risks associatedwith testing and commissioning. The requirements of this module are intended tobe completedto support the post commissioning requirements defined in Module 4.
