This module applies to inspection and evaluation of boundary measures and all who are involved in those activities. This module covers:

a) identifying the appropriate frequency of inspections;

b) recording and scheduling inspection activity within the asset register;

c) assigning the persons responsible for undertaking the inspection;

d) the requirements when undertaking inspections; and

e) approval and record keeping following the inspection.

This module does not cover:

f) inspections of security measures that do not form part of the boundary;

g) inspections of retaining walls (see NR/L3/CIV/006, Structures, Tunnels and Operational Property Examinations);

h) inspections for vehicle containment (see NR/L3/CIV/00012, Road Vehicle Incursions: Risk Assessment of Public and Non-Public Bridge and Neighbouring Sites);

i) Inspections of acoustic fences (barriers);

j) inspections of touch potential barriers;

k) safety barriers between two operational lines;

l) inspections of boundary measures forming part of a station or depot lease agreement, and

m) Inspection of bridges, stations and level crossings.
